The Bookcraft Bindery was created in 1990
following a move from Montreal, Quebec to Ottawa, Ontario. Pierre
Thibaudeau, Master bookbinder initially trained with a bookbinding firm in
Montreal, La Tranchfile. To further his study Pierre apprenticed for
several years with Hubert Leurs, now retired Master bookbinder from the
National Archives in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. A shop was created to
accommodate the work of The Bookcraft Bindery. Initially, most of the work
came from Antiquarian book dealers in Ottawa and grew to include
collectors, private citizens and government agencies.
Located in the Ottawa
region we specialize in bookbinding and book restoration, fine bindings,
period fine bindings
and bible repairs in leather and in cloth. We also do paper
cleaning , paper repairs and
book repairs.
Free estimates are
available. For clients living in Ottawa and surrounding area we provide
free estimates at your home and provide pickup and delivery.
